Festivals

Introduction:

This section gives links to film festivals that focus uniquely on women’s film and/or television production which might be of interest to WFTHN members and visiting researchers, either for their UK/Ireland context or for their relevance to women’s film history. There follows a list of lists of festivals, for wider browsing, and, finally, a list of references that can be found at the bottom of the page.

More research could certainly, and usefully, be done on the Women’s Film Festivals listed as well as on others that may not yet be listed here. We hope you will contribute any that you know about or find, and corrections are welcomed. Also please add any relevant book/article you write, or find, to the references at the end of this page.

This has been a difficult resource to compile, and a WFTHN blog on this topic will be published shortly.

We are always looking for expansion of this page, so if you have any additions please scroll down to the form below where you can log any new items that would be appropriate to the page.
